Tours en Libia

Travel to Libya with us

The Libya specialist that has been operating since before the crowds return — and brings you back from a country that will quietly undo every assumption you arrived with.

Tours en Libia

This is not a country that forgives shallow curiosity — but rewards the real kind beyond anything you’ve experienced. The best Roman ruins in the world are not in Rome. They are on the Libyan coast — Leptis Magna, Sabratha, Cyrene — three complete ancient cities with theatres, forums, basilicas, and mosaics still intact after 2,000 years, visited by almost no one. Behind the coast, the Sahara begins: the old walled oasis city of Ghadames, the prehistoric rock art of Tadrart Acacus, and sand seas stretching to the horizon in every direction. Libya is the Mediterranean’s last secret.

RJ Travel operates group tours and multiple private tours in Libya with itineraries ranging from four to twelve days. Every tour is led by English-speaking Libyan guides through our ground partner Azjar Tours, with full government permits and security coordination across every region. Choose a guaranteed group departure or book a private trip on your own dates with your own vehicle and guide. Visa LOI is included with all group tours.

Whether you’re drawn by walking through Leptis Magna’s colonnaded streets with no crowd in sight, standing inside the painted caves of the Acacus Mountains where humans left art 12,000 years ago, sleeping under stars in the Ubari Sand Sea beside salt lakes ringed by palm trees, or exploring the white-washed labyrinth of Ghadames where light enters only from above — every route crosses terrain that most travellers will never see and most operators refuse to touch. 300+ travellers. Zero safety incidents.

  • Leptis Magna — Rome’s Greatest Ruins, No Crowds: Walk through the most complete Roman city outside Italy — a colonnaded main street, a marble forum, a 16,000-seat amphitheatre, public baths with original mosaic floors — all standing virtually intact after 2,000 years. Built by Emperor Septimius Severus, who was born here in 145 AD. You will likely be the only visitor.
  • Ghadames — the Pearl of the Desert: Enter a UNESCO-listed Saharan oasis city built entirely in white-washed mud brick, where covered alleyways block the sun and rooftop walkways were reserved for women. Ghadames was a critical stop on trans-Saharan trade routes for over a thousand years. The old city is now empty of residents but perfectly preserved — a frozen labyrinth where light enters only from above.
  • Saharan Dunes, Salt Lakes & Prehistoric Rock Art: Drive into the Ubari Sand Sea to camp beside turquoise salt lakes ringed by palm trees and towering orange dunes. Then explore the Tadrart Acacus Mountains — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — where humans painted hunting scenes, cattle herds, and ritual dances onto rock walls 12,000 years ago, long before the Sahara turned to sand.
  • Cyrene & Sabratha — Greek and Roman Africa: Visit Cyrene, a 7th-century BC Greek colony perched on a hilltop in eastern Libya with a Temple of Zeus larger than the Parthenon. Then Sabratha on the western coast, where a three-story Roman theatre faces the Mediterranean — one of the most photographed ancient structures in Africa. Two civilizations, two coastlines, one country.
