How does it work?

When you click “Book Now, Pay Later” and select your dates, you’ll be able to choose between Babylon + Borsippa, Al Kifl + Najaf, Al-Ukhaidir + Karbala, and Samarra + Aqar Quf, before proceeding to checkout. After selecting your preferred tour option, you can review the price and finalize your booking.

Arriving in the afternoon means you’ll have one less day of exploration compared to morning arrivals. This results in a shorter, more relaxed itinerary, covering slightly fewer sites over 3 days and 3 nights, making the tour cheaper. However, you’ll still experience some of Iraq’s key landmarks, just with less time for extra excursions. Check our 4 days in Iraq morning arrival options.

4-day Iraq itinerary

Day 1 :
Arrival at Baghdad International Airport » Airport meet & greet » Private transfer to the hotel

Our representative meets you inside the terminal at Baghdad International and walks you through the visa-on-arrival desk — the part most travellers worry about, and the part we handle. From there it is a short drive into the city along the road that was once the most dangerous stretch of tarmac on Earth and is now simply a road. Iraq tends to reorder your expectations within the first hour. The rest of the evening is yours to sleep off the flight.

Overnight: 4-star hotel.

Day 2 :
Baghdad full-day city tour » Iraqi National Museum » Mutanabbi Street » Al-Shaheed Monument » Firdos Square

A full day in a capital that was, for five hundred years, the richest and most learned city on the planet. You start at the Iraqi National Museum — Sumerian, Akkadian, Assyrian and Babylonian treasure across twenty galleries, including the Warka Vase and the Lady of Uruk, both looted in 2003 and both recovered. Then Mutanabbi Street, the booksellers' street named for a 10th-century poet, where the old saying still holds: Cairo writes, Beirut prints, Baghdad reads. You finish at the split blue dome of the Al-Shaheed Martyrs' Monument and at Firdos Square, where a statue came down in front of the world's cameras in 2003.

Overnight: 4-star hotel.

Day 3 :
Baghdad » Ctesiphon (Taq Kasra) » Ancient City of Babylon » Baghdad

First to Ctesiphon and the Taq Kasra — the largest single-span unreinforced brick vault ever built, 37 metres high, thrown up by the Sassanid Persians in the 6th century and still standing after 1,400 years, two empires and a flood that took away half the palace. Then west to Babylon: the Ishtar Gate, the Processional Way, the Lion of Babylon, and Saddam's palace glowering above the ruins. Back to Baghdad in the evening.

Overnight: 4-star hotel.

Day 4 :
Baghdad » Samarra » Malwiya spiral minaret » Baghdad » Departure transfer

A final run north to Samarra to climb the Malwiya — the 52-metre spiral minaret built in 851 AD, still the strangest silhouette in Iraq — before returning to Baghdad and transferring to the airport for your flight home.
