Seven days. Five of South Sudan’s most extraordinary tribal cultures. One carefully engineered private expedition into the heartland of the world’s youngest country. Our South Sudan Tribal Discovery is the sweet-spot itinerary for travelers who want the full tribal experience — Mundari, Dinka, Toposa, Larim (Boya) and Lotuko — without the longer 11-day commitment.
From the ash-painted Mundari cattle camps outside Terekeka to the scarified Toposa warriors of Kapoeta and the hilltop villages of the Larim in the Boya Hills, this 7-day journey is run as a fully private expedition with 4×4 Land Cruiser, English-speaking tribal-culture guide, mandatory armed escort, and all entry permits, photography fees and logistics handled end-to-end by RJ Travel’s trusted South Sudan ground partner.
Why travelers choose the 7-Day Tribal Discovery
Most operators offering South Sudan run 4-day samplers limited to Mundari and Dinka. Our 7-day route is the only itinerary at this price point that also reaches the Toposa, Larim and Lotuko — tribes that live 12+ hours of rough driving east of Juba, in regions only accessible during the November–April dry season. We run this as a private trip only, with departure dates fixed to your schedule.
