8-day Afghanistan Itinerary
We start our journey from Dubai, landing in Kabul at 6:35 am. You’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel, where you can rest for a few hours. At 10 am, we begin exploring Kabul city, starting with the sacred Sakhi Shrine, continuing to the serene Gardens of Babur, and visiting the bustling Bird Market. We’ll also see the Shah Do Shamshira Mosque and enjoy the panoramic views from the Bibi Mahro Hills.
We start early with a 7:30 am transfer to Kabul airport for a 10:30 am flight to Mazar-e-Sharif. Upon arrival, we head to Balkh to explore the ancient Tepe Rustam, marvel at the architectural beauty of the Green Mosque, and visit the historic fortress, Bala Hissar. Our day concludes in Mazar-e-Sharif, known for its colorful and vibrant bazaars.
The day starts in Mazar-e-Sharif with a visit to the stunning Blue Mosque. From there, we travel to Samangan to explore the ancient Buddhist stupa and monastery at Takht-i Rustam, the historical Robatak pass, and the unique underground Cave Bazaar. Our day in Bamiyan begins with a visit to the great sites of Buddha 1 and Buddha 2, representing the cultural heritage and resilience of the region. We then delve into history at the ruins of Gholghola, also known as the “City of Screams.” We conclude the day back at Bamiyan’s vibrant market, giving us another opportunity to purchase local crafts and sample regional dishes.

After immersing ourselves in the awe-inspiring landscapes, we head back to Bamiyan and its bustling market. We depart from Bamiyan to visit Ghazni, an ancient city known for its impressive historical sites. Our exploration begins with the iconic Ghazni minarets, examples of exquisite medieval Islamic architecture. Next, we tour the majestic Ghazni fortress, which provides an intriguing glimpse into the city’s past. The day concludes with a visit to the open-air war museum, presenting a sad yet critical look at the region’s history of warfare.
