This is the day you visit the renowned site of the old city of Babylon. After a guided tour of the archeological complex, you will drive up the hill to the abandoned Saddam Hussein palace. Before heading to Karbala, you visit the Borsippa Ziggurat, also known as Birs Nimrud. Borsippa was an important ancient city of Sumer. The temple to Nabu at Borsippa was destroyed in 484 BC during the suppression of a revolt against the Achaemenid king Xerxes. Drive to Karbala.
